How do I sign my exhibits up for the Fair?

Wanna blue ribbon?  Gotta get those exhibits entered!
Here's how...

All 4-H Exhibits must be entered online prior to Sunday, August 3rd at 11:55 p.m.

How do I register my exhibits online?
It is the responsibility of the adult who taught the class/club/activity to enter the exhibits into the online system for the youth who participated. It is the responsibility of the youth to decide what they want to enter and notify the leader so the club leader can enter it for them before the deadline.

*If your child participated in Fab Friday or Summer Clubs (taught by Barbie, Aris, or Rebecca): fill out THIS SURVEY.

**For Rebecca's cooking club fill out THIS SURVEY

***For family clubs and other club leaders:
1. To register exhibits click HERE and click on the "HELP! I need a new password" link. It may be helpful to have the fairbook codes/classes open - for the complete fairbook click HERE.
2. Add entries for each club member you are responsible for.  If for some reason you have trouble logging in or one of your club members is not on the list, please call the Extension office.

Join the Sevier County 4-H Instagram Scavenger Hunt!

How it works: Each day of the Fair, we want YOU to take pictures around the Fair and post them to Instagram with the hashtag "#sevier4hutah".  Then search for the pictures of your fellow fair-goes, favorite their photo(s), and the pics with the most "favorites" each day will be posted on our Facebook page and in the exhibit hall at the fairgrounds.  GET CREATIVE - maybe you take a picture of you/your friends posing with an animal or you eating the messiest, yummiest, most colorful food, etc.  The theme will change each day so be sure to keep posting and follow along!

Awesome Omelets

Sevier County 4-H Teen Council will present the 6th Annual Awesome Omelet Bar on Friday, August 8th from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m.  Located outside the Auction/Show Barn, this breakfast opportunity will feature omelets custom made-to-order.  Come hungry! Come early!  All proceeds benefit the Sevier County 4-H Teen Council Scholarship Fund.  This event is sponsored by the Sevier Country Music Players & Dancers.

Best of luck to our 4-H Livestock Exhibitors!

Let's have a Stock Show!

Well, all the lambs, pigs, and steers are getting trimmed and washed to head to town for the stock show!  The Sevier County 4-H Staff want to wish all our 4-H members best of luck at this year's Southern Utah Junior Livestock Show!

The time for preparation is almost over, and now its time to show off all your hard work.  Remember to be respectful of other exhibitors, parents, and families while you're at the show - you will be wearing that 4-H patch on your arm and, as such, have committed to behave in a certain way.

Don't forget to tell everyone you know that you'll be selling your animal on Friday morning, too.  Generous donations can be made directly to YOUR animal, so be sure to tell you dad's boss, your grandma, and your neighbor to come down to the auction, have a 4-H Awesome Omelet for breakfast and boost your auction price by filling out one of the little colored post cards.

And, last but not least - take time to tell your parents, club leaders, and stock show volunteers THANK YOU for all the effort and work they are putting in FOR YOU.

Again - we wish you the best of luck and hope you have FUN!

4-H or open class?

If you made it in 4-H, we want to see it on "OUR"
side of the building!

What qualifies as a 4-H exhibit?  How is it different than Open Class?
When youth are enrolled in the 4-H program they complete projects and learn important life skills like teamwork, leadership, and responsibility.  In Sevier County, 4-H members can participate with their families, in community groups (like Fab Friday and community clubs), and in summer clubs.

A 4-H exhibit is a project completed at one of the activities listed above by a youth who is enrolled in 4-H.  This is an elite group!  It is different than open class because the projects we do in 4-H are UNLIKE anything you've ever seen before!

Sometimes the items are completed outside a club event/activity or you might learn a skill at the 4-H event and then make a project later. If you want to exhibit items that weren't completed AT a 4-H event or you re-made the item to perfect the skill (or you ate the item because it was yummy food), you can still exhibit in that category, you'll just need to tell the adult in charge of that activity so they can enter the item for you.

In 4-H, it is so much more than just finishing a project (like you might do at school, scouts, church, etc.) - the life skills component is unique to 4-H!

How do I choose what to bring?
Youth are allowed to enter 1 item per lot/category in 4-H. Sometimes, if your child participates in several different 4-H groups, they might make more than one thing that fits in the same category.  In 4-H we choose the best of our best to put in the fair - so, if you happen to make more than one of something in 4-H, it isn't appropriate for your "extra" item to be entered in Open Class. Pick your best to represent you and Sevier County 4-H.
