CHESS CLUB!!

 

Ok you Chess Kings and Queens! Chess Club starts Thursday June 11th at 2:00-3:00 at the NS REC it will run for 6 weeks. Come learn the game and how to make those AWESOME moves. Its going to be really fun and when you get done you can challenge someone to a game. Ages 10-14

Lets Talk Birds


Lets Talk Birds!! Bird Club will be starting on Wednesday June 3rd at NS REC at 4:00-5:00.We will be learning how they build their nests, what they eat, what kind of bird they are and even be doing some bird watching. So don't forget to mark your calendars for June 3rd. FLY on in and we will have some fun!! Ages 8-14.

Ready, Set, Go! to the World of Work Introduction



Date: May 28, 2015

Location: Utah State University Extension - 250 North Main Richfield, UT – Downstairs Training Room

Time: 5-7 PM

Cost: Free

Grades: 9-12

Description:  Activities and information are related to resumes, interview techniques, verbal and nonverbal communication. This event is a fun and informative opportunity for students to get a competitive advantage in the job market.

Ready, Set, Go! to the World of Work County Contest



Date: June 11, 2015

Location: Youth Center – 100 South 200 West Richfield, UT  

Time: Participants will choose their interview time between 9 AM and 12 PM.

Cost: Free

Grades: 9-12

Description: Show off your interview skills! Contestants will come prepared with a completed resume and job application. They will be given an interview time in which to complete a 10 minute interview. Contestants should treat this contest as if they were actually going through the job interview process. This event will give youth an opportunity to qualify for participation in the World of Work State Contest. 

Ready, Set, Go! to A Day in the Life of a College Student Overnight Camp


Date: June 17-18, 2015

Location: Utah State University Eastern – 451 East 400 North Price, UT

Time: Depart from Richfield at 1:00 PM and arrive at USU Eastern in Price at 3:00 PM

Cost: $60.00 per student

Grades: 9-12

Description: Experience what it’s really like to be in college! This camp is designed to give students a real-life college experience. It includes an overnight stay in the dorms, a campus tour, workshops and many fun activities including disc golf, movie night and a tour of the Utah State University Eastern Prehistoric Museum. 


Ready, Set, Go! to the State Contest



Date: July 13-15, 2015

Location: Utah State University - Logan, UT  

Time: TBD

Cost: $50.00 – Scholarships May Be Available

Grades: 9-12

Description: County Contest finalists will be invited to participate on the state level. Like the County Contest, participants will come prepared with a completed resume and job application. They will be given an interview time in which to complete a 10 minute interview. Contestants should treat this contest as if they were actually going through the job interview process.


Ready, Set, Go! to the Ultimate Frisbee Activity


Date: July 22, 2015

Location: Richfield City Park – 300 North Main Richfield, UT  

Time: 6-8 PM

Cost: Free

Grades: 9-12

Description: Got Ultimate Frisbee Skills? This activity will include a game of Ultimate Frisbee after a brief lesson on negative thoughts and their effects on performance and self-esteem.

Ready, Set, Go! on a Campus Tour



Date: August 10, 2015

Location: It's A Mystery! 

Time: TBD

Grades: 9-12

Description: Students will be asked to vote for a Utah college or university they would like to visit. The school with the most votes wins!  Additional tour details will be provided after the votes have been tallied. 


Ready, Set, Go! to Bowling Night



Date: August 14, 2015

Location: Jorgensen Bowling - 980 South Cover View Rd. Richfield, UT

Time: 6-8 PM

Cost: Free

Grades: 9-12

Description: Let’s Party! Join us for some end of summer fun. This event includes bowling and arcade games after a brief lesson related to decisions making and goal setting.

FIRST LEGO League (FLL®) challenges kids to think like scientists and engineers.  During the TRASH TREKS season, teams will choose and solve a real-world trash problem in the Project.  They will also build, test, and program an autonomous robot using LEGO MINDSTORMS® technology to solve a set of missions in the Robot Game.  Throughout their experience, teams will operate under FLL’s signature set of Core Values, celebrating discovery, teamwork, and Gracious Professionalism®. - Learn More
